Sri Lanka–Maldives Business Council Hosts 17th AGM

The 17th Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka–Maldives Business Council was held on 14th August 2025 at the Hilton Residencies, Colombo.

After completing a successful two-year tenure as President, Mr. Sudesh Mendis handed over the presidency to Mr. Sanjeewa Perera, Head of Commercial Real Estate Finance for Sri Lanka & Maldives at the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd.

This formal gathering was graced by His Excellency Masood Imad, High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to Sri Lanka, and His Excellency M.R. Hassen, Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner-designate to the Maldives, along with distinguished invitees, past presidents of the Council, members, and representatives of the media.

The Guest Speaker, Mr. Suresh Rajendra, President of the Leisure Group at John Keells Holdings PLC, delivered an insightful address, sharing his experiences from the pioneering investment hotel projects undertaken in the Maldives in collaboration with Sri Lanka.
